New York Flooring Installation

New York Flooring will custom-design the installation based on the type of flooring you select, and then work with you every step of the way to ensure your satisfaction.

Installation of new hardwood floors can include the following:

  • Removal of existing wooden floors
  • Filling in low spots in or repairing the sub-floor
  • Testing for moisture in the sub-floor
  • Laying an underlayment (a fibrous material upon which the new hardwood lays)
  • Applying adhesive to tongue-in-groove boards
  • Laying parquet floor patterns to best fit the room, especially in rooms that are not perfectly square
  • Fastening plank floor boards to the sub-floor, and then sanding, staining and finishing the floor
  • Using pre-finished wood flooring to decrease the timeframe and minimize dust and fumes

New York Staining and Polishing Wood Floors

Often clients would like their floors stained to a uniform color. New York Flooring can match your existing wood color or just about any other shade in the market today. We pride ourselves in applying stain by hand, with an eye to detail.

New York Flooring is able to accommodate most requests, including staining wood to a lighter shade than the original color. Staining your hardwood floors will typically add two business days to your projects timeframe, depending on whether we use an oil or water-based stain.

New York Repairing Wood Floors

Sometimes people find that their existing wood floors have blemishes in the wood, damage from pets, termites, or moving furniture, and need to be repaired. New York Flooring can help! We have years of experience in repairing wood floors.
